Lora Benson : Sacred Space & Conscious Facilitation
The Present: Sacred Space & Conscious Facilitation
Lora Benson brings a deeply compassionate, human-centered lens to her practice as a Master of Social Work (MSW) candidate in her second year at the University of Denver. A Colorado State-licensed Natural Medicine Facilitator in Training (NMFIT) and Natural Medicine Handler, Lora views natural medicine through the foundational ethics of social work: client self-determination, social justice, collective healing, and honoring the innate dignity and worth of every individual.
Her practice, Swim in the Sacred, is built on a trauma-informed, deeply collaborative foundation. Lora believes that real transformation occurs within the safety of genuine connection. On the day of a journey, she cultivates an environment of complete safety, comfort, and grounded sanctuary. Remaining fully present alongside her clients, Lora offers real-time, responsive support, holding space with an intuitive awareness that allows each individual to navigate their inner landscape safely.
The Past: Deep Roots, Resilience & Discovery
Lora’s path to psychedelic facilitation is grounded in a lifetime of service, devotion, and personal transformation. For over a decade, she served as a dedicated high school English teacher across Upstate New York and the greater Denver area. Holding a Bachelor of Science in English Literature and a Master of Science in TESOL Education, her early career was defined by a love for language, storytelling, and empowering multilingual learners.
Her personal journey has been equally transformative. A mother of four children and two rescue dogs living near the majestic Flatirons in the Boulder area, Lora recently navigated a major life transition, stepping away from a twenty-year marriage and moving north toward the mountains. Having walked through the fires of profound personal change, she deeply understands that following your dreams and honoring your truth is rarely easy—but infinitely worth it. Her relationship with altered states of consciousness began in the late 1990s, when early explorations with LSD and the teachings of Timothy Leary led her to study The Tibetan Book of the Dead, igniting a lifelong fascination with the architecture of the mind and spirit.
The Future: Evolution, Access & End-of-Life Care
An avid reader and perpetual scholar of the soul, Lora continuously deepens her knowledge by staying at the forefront of modern psychedelic research and integrating these insights into her lived practice. Looking ahead, she aims to expand her expertise into psychedelic-assisted therapy for end-of-life care, offering comfort, solace, and spiritual alignment to clients navigating life’s final, sacred transition.
Lora is profoundly honored to contribute to the ongoing psychedelic renaissance, viewing the healing of the individual as a vital step toward the collective healing of humanity. Sacred medicine should be accessible to all who feel called. To ensure equity, Lora offers discounted rates for veterans, first responders, teachers, social workers, and fellow state-licensed practitioners. Moreover, for those facing financial hardship, she remains dedicated to removing economic barriers. If a client has been cleared, is ready to embark on a journey, and money is the only obstacle, Lora warmly invites them to reach out so they can find a path forward together.
